Galddoaivi Wilderness Expeditions
You ever hear of Galddoaivi? It’s this wild Arctic mountain smack in the middle of Finland’s biggest wilderness—pretty much the middle of nowhere, which honestly makes it perfect. That’s where we got the name for the company, and yeah, it’s a mouthful, but it fits.
We’ve been running fishing and hiking trips since 2017, so what, like seven years now? Time flies when you’re knee-deep in rivers, I guess. Thing is, we don’t do those cookie-cutter tours where you’re herded around like cattle. Nah, we’re all about slowing down, reading the water, waiting for that perfect cast. Some days it takes hours, but man, when it clicks? Worth every second.
Oh, and we’re weirdly picky about fish. Not in a snobby way—just, you know, we wanna keep these waters alive for the next crew. So we toss back the big females (sorry, ladies), and we’re careful not to hammer one species too hard. It’s not just about catching dinner; it’s about making sure there’s still dinner here in 20 years. Some folks think catch-and-release is overkill, but hey, try eating a pike that’s been stress-sliming all day. No thanks.
Anyway, if you’re into fly fishing, we’ve got you. Salmon? Brown trout? Grayling—wait, no, grayling, damn autocorrect—pike? Yeah, we know ‘em all. Guiding’s kinda like matchmaking: gotta figure out what the fish are into that day. Flies, depths, weather… it’s a puzzle. But when you land a salmon that’s been playing hard to get? Chef’s kiss.
Oh, and we speak English and Finnish, so no charades over waders. Mostly.
