One of the most simple and most used knots to attach tippet or leader to a fly.

Step 1

Put your line through the eye of the fly

Put your line through the eye of the fly and make it go around itself.

Step 2

Wrap the line around itself

Wrap the line around itself for about 3-6 times. Make sure to keep the loop that's the eye of the fly.

Step 3

Pull the line through the loop

Take the line and pull it through the loop that's at the eye of the fly.

Step 4

Pull everything tight

Pull the tag end to pull the knot tight onto the eye of the fly. Cut off any excess tag end.
