How to tie the Homer Rhode Loop Knot
Developed by Homer Rhode Jr., an iconic angler and writer, this knot is celebrated for its strength, simplicity in tying, and the enhanced action and movement it provides to the fly.
Step 1
Simple knot plus loop through eye
Make a simple knot first that you leave open, then put the line through the eye and back through the simple knot.
Step 2
Wrap the line around both ends
Wrap the tag end around both the long end of the line and itself once or twice. At the last wrap, put the tag end through the loops that you just created.
Step 3
Pull everything tight
Pull everything tight by pulling on the tag end, putting everything snug together.
