How to tie the Jack's Knot
The Jack's Knot or Uni Knot is known for its simplicity in tying, strength under tension, and adaptability to a wide range of line types. It holds even when the line is slack, reducing the risk of losing a fish due to knot slippage.
Step 1
Put the line through the eye
Put the line through the eye, and keep quite a bit of length for the knot.
Step 2
Make a small loop
Make a loop and hold it together with two fingers where the line is crossing itself.
Step 3
Warp the line around itself
Wrap the line snug around itself where you're holding it, still keeping the loops open.
Step 4
Wrap it around itself again and put through the loop
Wrap it around itself again, and then put the tag end through the loop.
Step 5
Pull to tighten
Pull on the long end of the line to tighten the knot and cut off any excess.
