How to tie the Loop-to-Loop Knot
A simple, reliable, and efficient way to connect lines with loop ends. Most used to link the fly line and leader or leader and tippet, providing a smooth transition for the line to pass through rod eyes.
Step 1
Put one loop over the other
Take one of the lines with a loop (the one with the shortest length), and put that loop over the knot of the other knot. It's important the knot is all the way over where the other knot is tightened.
Step 2
Put the end of the line through the loop
Take the end of the line of the loop that you started with, and put it through the other loop.
Step 3
Pull to tighten
Pull on the end of the line. You might have to wiggle the loops a bit so that they're securely locked into place.
