How to tie the Surgeon's End Loop
An easy-to-tie knot to create a strong loop at the end of a line, leader, or tippet. Similar to the Double Surgeon's Loop, it's a variation of the Surgeon's Knot.
Step 1
Make a simple knot
Just like with the Double Surgeon's Loop, you make a loop by doubling the line. Then make a simple knot. Next, put the loop around the other side.
Step 2
Wrap the loop around the lines
Wrap the loop around the lines from the other side once.
Step 3
Pull to tighten
Pull on the both the loop and the line slowly to tighten the knot and then cut off any excess line.
